Writing English 1A: Friends, people, & places・友人、人達、場所

Hello!

How are you? Look at the picture above.

Imagine that this is a person you know - this person could be your friend's friend, or one who lives next door to you in your neighborhood (近所).

As you see this person, what is your impression (感想)? What do you think this person is thinking or feeling? What kind of life does this person have? What kind of job do you think this person has? What kind of place is this person in? What feeling do you get about the place this person's in?

Activity/homework
Think about questions like these, and talk about them with your classmates! With a classmate,  choose his picture, or one of the next four pictures - talk about any one (1) picture.

Imagine that a person in any picture is your friend, or a friend of a friend (for example, your friend's father or other friend, or maybe even your father's friend).

After talking about your impressions and feelings - then write about the person and the place. Let your classmate write about the same person and place - but you don't have to write the same kind of impression or about the same feelings!

Is it possible that two (or more) people can look at the same picture and have different impressions and get different feelings about it? Maybe! There are no right or wrong answers - only the strength of your impressions!) Try it!

(In this picture, choose one person!)

Good luck - and have fun with this!

面白い話しを待ってます!
